Renewable energy

Driving the energy transition by developing environmentally responsible energy solutions.

The energy transition is at the heart of today’s societal priorities. As a trusted partner to leaders in electricity generation, transmission, transformation and distribution, TCI+ develops infrastructure that meets environmental requirements while addressing the needs of communities. Through the Omexom network, our teams bring recognized expertise in the construction, installation and maintenance of hydroelectric and wind energy networks.

Our objectives:

  • ensure a reliable supply through the quality of our work;
  • implement solutions that improve energy efficiency.

Wind Power

Wind energy’s share of the global energy mix is expected to increase fivefold by 2050. TCI+ is contributing to this transformation with recognized expertise in the development of public and private wind farms under an EPC model (Engineering, Procurement and Construction). We carry out these projects in close collaboration with the communities where they are developed.

We firmly believe that one of the solutions to today’s energy challenges lies in diversifying low-carbon energy sources and improving the energy efficiency of our infrastructure.

Hydropower

Hydropower is a defining part of Québec’s identity. We are proud to have contributed to building the generating stations, overhead and underground lines, substations and distribution infrastructure that power our homes, businesses, institutions and buildings. Today, we continue to do so with the same passion.

We provide innovative solutions to our partners. Fully developed by TCI+, our geomatics platform enables our clients to analyze in real time the quality of installations across their overhead distribution networks — an innovation by TCI+.

Our Projects

Bout-de-l’Île Electrical Substation
Civil engineering

Installation of 315-kilovolt cables at the Bout-de-l’Île substation for the Pascal-Gagnon overhead-to-underground transmission link.

Missikapit Substation
Electrical substation

Installation of 315-kilovolt cables at the Bout-de-l’Île substation for the Pascal-Gagnon overhead-to-underground transmission link.

Appalaches Substation
Thetford Mines

Construction of a VSC-type converter station for an interconnection project with Maine with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts.

Canadian Malartic Mine
One of the largest open-pit gold mines

TCI+ was mandated to build a new 120 kV transmission line at the Canadian Malartic gold mine following the discovery of new deposits in 2022. Supported by 59 structures over 13 km, this new line will supply the energy required for mining operations, ore extraction and gold processing. The site consists of three major pits: Malartic, Odyssey and East Malartic. TCI+ has been working with Canadian Malartic for more than 12 years, and mining operations are expected to continue until 2029.

Îles-de-la-Madeleine Wind Farm
Renewable energy

Work carried out by the CER consortium, of which TCI+ is a member. Our main challenge was the complexity of the site due to soil conditions, salty air and transportation logistics. EPC project.

Des Moulins Wind Farm
Thetford Mines

Work carried out by the CER consortium, of which TCI+ is a member. This wind farm consists of 175 wind turbines with a total capacity of 350 megawatts. EPC project.

Apuiat Wind Farm
First wind farm on the Côte-Nord

Work carried out by the CER consortium, of which TCI+ is a member. The consortium will build more than 75 kilometres of roads, 115 kilometres of collector network, foundations, and assemble 34 wind turbines standing 119 metres tall to enable the production of approximately 200 megawatts of electricity. EPC project.

Québec–United States Interconnection
Hertel–New York Transmission Line

Construction of 16.3 km of the Hertel–New York line, a Hydro-Québec project designed to deliver 1,250 MW of clean electricity to New York through a 57.7 km transmission line, primarily underground.

EPZ Pylon
Pascal-Gagnon Overhead-to-Underground Substation

Installation of a 76-ton pylon under demanding conditions, including foundations, assembly and erection, carried out between November 2023 and February 2024.

Gamelin Substation
120 kV Underground Line and Drilling

Construction of a 120 kV underground transmission line in Gatineau, including 3.9 km of conduits, five joint bays and a directional drilling operation beneath a highway.

Electric Charging Stations
Energy optimization

Energy Optimization
Installation of electric vehicle charging stations for Couche-Tard, Circle K and Canadian Tire. EPC project

Lac-Mégantic Microgrid
Solar panels

Installation of the first microgrid in Québec. EPC project.
